Fred Berrange of the Leopard Conservation Project

Since I’ve had Cooper ST Maxx tyres fitted I have done two leopard rescues one in very muddy terrain after a heavy rain. I was nervous. I know the area well and know it’s best to deflate but I decided not deflate as I needed to get to the leopard quickly as she had been caged for three days. The tyres were phenomenal – they just throw the mud away. I managed to get through and collect the leopard. On the way to the release site I experienced completely the opposite terrain – very rocky, tough terrain with some climbs tackled in reverse and always in 4x4 low. The tyres never lost grip – they performed beautifully and the leopard was successfully released. A real advantage is the lack of road noise. I can now take calls in the bakkie and hear the caller. Hands free, of course.
